    Hoag and St. Joseph Health Promote Heart Health with Subway during Heart Awareness Month

    NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Jan. 1, 2014 – In honor of American Heart Month, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian and St. Joseph Health have teamed up with Subway to promote heart healthy dietary choices.

    Throughout the month of February, individuals can redeem a coupon for one free sub sandwich, with the purchase of a 6-inch sub and 30 oz. drink, redeemable at all Orange County Subway locations. 

    With cardiovascular disease being the leading cause of death in the United States, Hoag, St. Joseph Health and Subway hope to raise awareness for the disease and inspire the community to lead a heart-healthy lifestyle. Some tips to follow include:

    Eat healthy

    Watch your weight

    Control your cholesterol

    Manage your blood pressure

    Reduce your blood sugar

    Exercise

    Quit smoking
